Italian Meatloaf
- 4 pounds ground chuck
- 2 pounds ham sausage
- 1 can Italian tomatoes, drained reserving liquid
- 1 can Italian bread crumbs
- 16 ounces steak sauce, your choice
- 8 ounces ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Thoroughly mix together chuck and ham.
- Add tomatoes, crumbs, and 8 oz. steak sauce.
- Mix thoroughly. Shape into two large loaves.
- You may place loaves in bread pans or place in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Drain fat and reduce heat to 325.
- Bake for one hour, draining fat off every 20 minutes.
- Moisten with juice if the loaves begin to look too dry. Mix together ketchup and 8 ounces steak sauce and 1/4 cup brown sugar.
- Pour over loaves and bake 20 minutes longer.
- Let stand 15 minutes before slicing.
- Recipe may be halved.
