Grandma'S Italiano Pasta Sauce
- .92 lb. salt pork
- 1 1/2 yellow onions
- 4 fresh garlic cloves
- 1 pkg. pork bones
- 4 (28 oz.) cans Progresso peeled tomatoes
- 4 (6 oz.) cans Progresso pure tomato paste
- 1 bunch fresh parsley
- 3/4 jar Spice Island sweet basil
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. pepper
- Cut cube sizes of approximately .92 pounds of salt pork.
- Fry in large saucepan eventually adding 1 1/2 chopped onions and 4 chopped garlic cloves.
- Brown all.
- Add pork bones and brown.
- Add tomatoes (mush tomatoes before adding).
- Cook on medium heat until it comes to a boil (approximately 20 minutes).
- Add finely chopped parsley (leafy part only).
- Add tomato paste and 72 ounces of water.
- Add basil (.49 ounce jar).
- Add palm full of salt and pepper (or to taste).
- Simmer.
