The Best Beef Brisket

  1. Trim fat on briskett.
  2. Soak brisket for 30 minutes in water.
  3. Drain.
  4. Sprinkle meat with kosher salt and let sit 30 minutes.
  5. Rinse meat well.
  6. Braise meat in olive oil until brown, approximately 8 minutes per side.
  7. Reduce heat and add onions.
  8. Brown.
  9. Add garlic.
  10. Remove meat.
  11. Add all ingredients for sauce.
  12. Stir well.
  13. Put meat back in pan and simmer covered for approximately 3 hours.
  14. Remove meat and reduce sauce.
