Vegetable Soup (With Meat)

  1. Salt and pepper meat and brown (not with flour).
  2. Place meat in large soup pot with 1 quart water.
  3. Cook until tender.
  4. Add string beans; cook 5 minutes.
  5. Add potatoes, okra, celery, carrots and rice.
  6. Cook until potatoes are tender, but not mushy.
  7. Add all other ingredients and cook a while longer.
  8. Good for company. Serve with corn muffins.
