Pecan Pie Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar.
  3. Cut in butter and margarine with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press crumb mixture into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
  6. While crust is baking, combine eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, salt and vanilla; blend well.
  7. Stir in pecans. Pour filling over hot crust.
  8. Reduce oven temperature to 275u0b0. Bake about 50 minutes or until center is set.
  9. Cool in pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
  10. Makes 16 bars.
