Pecan Pie Bars
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 5 eggs
- 1 c. dark corn syrup
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. broken pecans
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar.
- Cut in butter and margarine with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press crumb mixture into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
- While crust is baking, combine eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, salt and vanilla; blend well.
- Stir in pecans. Pour filling over hot crust.
- Reduce oven temperature to 275u0b0. Bake about 50 minutes or until center is set.
- Cool in pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
- Makes 16 bars.
