The World'S Best Cookie
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. regular oats (uncooked)
- 1 c. corn flakes, crushed
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- Cream butter.
- Gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
- Add egg; beat well.
- Add oil and vanilla, mixing well.
- Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in oats and remaining ingredients.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheets; flatten each ball with tines of a fork.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 15 minutes.
- Cool slightly.
- Remove from cookie sheets; cool.
- Yields 10 dozen.
