Blueberry Breakfast Cake

  1. Blend shortening and 1/3 cup sugar; add egg and beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. Add to shortening mixture, alternately with milk, being careful not to overmix.
  2. Fold in blueberries.
  3. Spread in a greased 9 x 9-inch baking pan.
  4. Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and melted butter.
  5. Toss with cereal and sprinkle over batter in pan. Bake in moderately hot oven (400u0b0) about 25 minutes.
  6. Best served warm.
