Strawberry Pie
- 1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
- 1 qt. unsweetened strawberries
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. water
- 1/8 c. (2 Tbsp.) cornstarch
- dash of salt
- red food coloring
- 1/2 pkg. (1/4 c.) strawberry Jell-O
- Fill
- 1
- bakedt-inch pie shell with 1 quart of sliced unsweetened
- strawberries.tring
- to
- a
- boil
- and cook until thick
- andtlear,ttirring
- constantly:
- sugar, water, cornstarchtnd salt.
- Remove from heat and add a few drops of red food
- coloring
- and
- 1/2
- package (1/4 cup) strawberry Jell-O. Stir in and let cool.
- Pour cooled sauce over strawberries and refrigerate
- at least 4 to 6 hours.
- Serve with whipped cream. Peaches
- can
- be
- substituted
- forthe strawberries and peach Jell-O.
