Stuffed Cabbage Leaves

  1. Boil cabbage leaves in salted water for about 3 minutes; drain.
  2. Combine egg, salt, onion, milk and 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce; mix well.
  3. Add beef, pork and rice; mix lightly.
  4. Place 1/2 cup meat mixture in center of each cabbage leaf.
  5. Fold sides and ends of leaves over meat mixture; secure with wooden picks.
  6. Saute in butter in a skillet about 5 minutes, or until golden on both sides.
  7. Add remaining barbecue sauce and the water.
  8. Cover and cook 40 minutes, basting twice during cooking.
  9. Remove cover and cook another 5 minutes.
  10. Makes 6 servings.
