Broccoli-Onion Casserole
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli
- 2 onions, cut into wedges
- 1/8 c. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 c. shredded sharp American cheese
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/8 c. margarine
- Cook
- broccoli until tender.
- In another saucepan, cook the onions in boiling, salted water until tender;
- drain each. In saucepan, melt 1/8 cup of margarine.
- Blend in flour, salt and dash
- of
- pepper
- if
- desired.
- Add milk.
- Cook, stirring constantly,
- until
- thick
- and bubbly.
- Reduce heat; add cream cheese
- and stir until smooth.
- Mix the sauce into the vegetables. Turn
- into
- a
- greased
- casserole and top with shredded cheese. Melt
- 1/8
- cup
- of
- margarine
- and mix with the bread crumbs. Sprinkle on top of the casserole.
- Bake at 350u0b0 until heated through.
