Strawberry Nut Salad
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O
- 1 (16 oz.) frozen strawberries (also use one 10 oz. frozen strawberries along with the 16 oz. size)
- 1 small can crushed pineapple (8 oz.), drained
- 3 bananas, mashed well
- 1 c. chopped nuts (pecans, English walnuts, etc.)
- 1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip
- 1/2 pt. sour cream
- 1 packet clear gelatin, dissolved in small amount of hot water (add to Jell-O mixture)
- Dissolve Jell-O in 2 cups boiling water. Add strawberries. Add pineapple, nuts and bananas.
- (I let the strawberries thaw first, they seem to mix better.)
- After you have mixed the ingredients all together, pour half of the mixture into a 10 x 13-inch glass dish and set in the refrigerator.
- Leave the other half of the mixture set at room temperature. When first layer is set, blend Cool Whip and sour cream together.
- Spread over top
- of set Jell-O, then add remaining Jell-O that has been setting at room temperature.
- Return to refrigerator for top layer of Jell-O to set.
