Beef And Cheese Casserole
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef (lean)
- 2 (8 oz. each) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. sherry
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 3 green onions, chopped (1/2 c.)
- 1/4 c. sour cream
- 8 oz. wide noodles (medium may be used)
- Break beef up slightly and saute.
- Drain away fat.
- Add tomato sauce, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Bring 4 cups water and 1 tablespoon salt to boil in large kettle.
- Add noodles and bring to full boil.
- Boil 2 minutes, stirring.
- Remove from heat.
- Cover and let stand 10 minutes.
- Drain and rinse in hot water.
- Put 1/2 the noodles in shallow baking dish.
- Mix all remaining ingredients (except meat) and pour over noodles.
- Add other 1/2 of noodles and pour meat mixture on top.
