Dip For Sliced Apples
- 1 pkg. cream cheese
- a little mayonnaise
- 1 small can crushed pineapple, well drained
- chopped dates
- chopped pecans
- sliced red and green apples with skins
- Cream 1 package of regular or light (not whipped) cream cheese.
- Add a little bit of mayonnaise, just to make the cream cheese spreadable.
- Add 1 small can of crushed pineapple that has been well drained.
- Add chopped dates and chopped pecans, until they look in equal portions to the cheese mixture.
- Slice red and green apples, leaving the skins on.
- Dip each slice in a mixture of citrus acid mixed with water or with fresh lemon juice, mixed with water.
- Lightly wipe off slices with paper towels.
- This prevents browning of the apple slices.
- Place the spreadable dip in a bowl and in the middle of a large plate.
- Arrange the slices in an attractive pattern around the dip.
