Corn Bread Taco Bake

• 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
• 1 pkg. taco seasoning
• 1/2 c. water
• 1 can whole kernel corn
• 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
• 1 can tomato sauce
• 1 pkg. (8 1/2 oz.) corn bread mix
• 1 can (small) French fried onions
• 1/3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

1. In skillet brown ground beef.
2. Drain.
3. Stir in taco seasonings, water, corn, green pepper and tomato sauce.
4. Pour into 2-quart casserole dish.
5. In separate bowl, prepare corn bread mix according to box directions, except add 1/2 can French fried onions.
6. Spoon corn bread mixture around outer edge of casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 400u0b0 for 20 minutes.
7. Top corn bread with cheese and remaining onions.
8. Bake 2 or 3 minutes more.
9. Serves 6.
