Red Hot Pickle Rings

  1. Cover
  2. rings
  3. with
  4. lime
  5. and
  6. water
  7. mixture.toak 24 hours. Drain
  8. and
  9. wash
  10. in
  11. cold water.toak 3 hours in ice water. Drain.
  12. Mix

  14. cup vinegar, food color and alum; pour over
  15. rings with
  16. water
  17. to
  18. cover.
  19. Heat and simmer 2 hours; drain.
  20. Bring 2
  21. cups
  22. vinegar,
  23. 2
  24. cupstater, sugar, stick cinnamon and red hots to boil and pour over rings.
  25. Weigh down to
  26. keep all covered with mixture.
  27. Let stand overnight.
  28. Heat 3 mornings; the 3rd morning heat to boiling and pack into jars and seal.
