Apple Crumble With Tea Masala Spices
- 3 lbs apples, peeled and sliced
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup whole grain flour
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine, softened
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon tea masala spices, to taste (substitute all spices or ras el hanout )
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0F/190u0b0C.
- Grease bottom and sides 10 inch square pan with butter or margarine.
- Distribute apples in the mold.
- In bowl combine remaining ingredients and mix well.
- With your hands form crumbles. Sprinkle the crumbles over apples.
- Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Serve warm with ice cream or custard.
- Note: You can reduce the amount of butter to 1/4 of cup and add 2 tablespoons of light cream cheese.
