Granny'S Bean Goulash

  1. After soaking beans overnight, boil with pork, bacon drippings, garlic, salt and pepper.
  2. Cook until beans are barely tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
  3. In a large skillet, brown hamburger, onion, pepper and celery.
  4. Brown until onions begin to turn transparent.
  5. Add garlic powder, chili powder, tomatoes, salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer about 10 minutes and add to beans.
  7. Cool, ladle into 1 quart freezer containers.
  8. Label, freeze.
  9. To serve:
  10. Thaw and place in a Dutch oven.
  11. Simmer until juice is thick.
  12. Serve with cabbage slaw and cornbread.
