Homemade Soup

  1. Brown beef.
  2. I cut up a cheap piece of steak or roast (ground meat is fine).
  3. I don't use stew meat.
  4. Add to your Dutch oven or large boiler in which you have boiled several carrots.
  5. The carrots should have been boiled only for a short time.
  6. Add cut up potatoes, tomatoes and cream-style corn.
  7. Boil a cup of water; add bouillon cubes.
  8. Add to soup mix.
  9. Cut up okra is good to add if you have it.
  10. Also add celery and onion (cut up, but not real fine).
  11. Boil for 5 or 10 minutes.
  12. Simmer for an hour or two.
  13. I serve with cornbread.
