Michael'S Foot Stompin Chili
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 1 lb. round steak (1/2-inch slices)
- 3 dried red chili peppers, crushed
- 3 (4 oz.) cans jalapeno peppers
- 3 medium white onions, chopped coarsely
- Crisco
- tomato paste or corn meal to thicken (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, finely crushed
- 1 Tbsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. salt (optional)
- 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 3 c. water
- 3 bacon slices
- 3 squirts Tabasco sauce
- 2 cans pinto beans (drained)
- Fry bacon strips and set aside.
- In bacon grease, fry onions and garlic until translucent.
- Strain onions and garlic and get rid of bacon grease.
- Fry pork in Crisco, then strain, saving Crisco.
- Fry round steak strips in (pork) Crisco.
- Drain steak and put pork and steak into large kettle.
- Fry ground beef with onions and garlic.
- Drain off grease and put beef into kettle with other meats.
- Add water, tomato paste and crushed fried bacon.
- Cook on medium heat.
