Grits Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  3. Add garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil.
  5. Gradually stir in grits.
  6. Lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove pan from heat; stir in butter and chilies.
  8. Add 1 cup of cheese until melted.
  9. Mix eggs with milk.
  10. Stir into grits.
  11. Pour grits into a greased 2-quart casserole.
  12. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  13. Bake for 1 hour. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
