Fast Fixin' Fruit 'N' Cake

  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add the 4 egg yolks and 2 whites, beaten together.
  2. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed on mixer. Sift flour with soda added.
  3. Add flour mixture to first mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
  4. Add vanilla.
  5. Fold in 4 stiffly beaten egg whites.
  6. Bake in three 9-inch layer pans that have been greased and floured.
  7. (I use four 8-inch pans.)
  8. Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  9. Makes 3 large layers or 4 smaller layers.
