Hot Tamales

  1. Put all ingredients in large bowl and mix well by hand.
  2. Take about 1 tablespoon at a time.
  3. Roll in yellow corn meal or masa. Wrap in papers.
  4. Wet papers first so they will not be stiff.
  5. Take string and tie 3 tamales together at a time.
  6. Put tamales in large roasting pan.
  7. Pour boiling water to completely cover all the tamales.
  8. To the pot, add 1 can tomato sauce and 1 ounce chili powder.
  9. Cover and simmer for 2 hours.
