Cardamom Buns

  1. Scald milk. Add butter and shortening to melt. Let cool.
  2. Soften yeast in the warm water, with 1 T sugar. Let sit 5 minute.
  3. In lg bowl, add sugar, salt and cardamom.
  4. Pour in milk.
  5. Pour in yeast.
  6. Add enough of the flour to make a stiff dough.
  7. Knead for 5-8 minutes.
  8. Place dough in greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled.
  9. Punch down dough and form into Ping-Pong sized balls.
  10. Place balls 1" apart on greased baking sheet.
  11. Cover with tea towel and let rise until doubled in size.
  12. Preheat oven to 450u0b0F.
  13. Bake for 5 minutes (that's all!).
  14. Remove from oven and brush with melted butter.
