Seven Layer Salad
- 1 head lettuce, broken in bite size pieces
- 1 c. celery, thinly sliced
- 1 large red Spanish onion, sliced thin
- 2 c. mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 10 slices bacon, fried crisp
- 1 c. Mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed (uncooked)
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese
- In a 3-quart rectangular casserole dish, spread layer of lettuce.
- Cover lettuce with layer of celery.
- Cover celery with a layer of onion.
- Combine mayonnaise, sugar and salt and spread over onion layer.
- Crumble crisp bacon over mayonnaise layer.
- Sprinkle layer of uncooked chopped broccoli over bacon.
- Cover broccoli with grated cheese.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate.
- Prepare 12 to 24 hours before serving.
- Keeps 2 to 3 days.
