Chuck Wagon Beans
- 2 slices bacon
- 3 lb. ground beef
- 3 c. finely chopped onions
- 1 c. finely chopped celery
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 2/3 c. boiling water
- 1 1/2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 1/2 c. ketchup
- 3 Tbsp. mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 large size cans molasses-type baked beans (if you can't find these, add 2 1/2 Tbsp. molasses)
- 2 or 3 Tbsp. barbecue sauce
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- In large roasting pan or Dutch oven, fry bacon until crisp.
- Set aside.
- Drain fat from pan.
- In same pan, cook and stir ground beef, onion and celery until meat is brown and onion is tender.
- Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water and add remaining ingredients into meat mixture.
- Cover and bake 1 hour.
- Crumble bacon over beans before serving.
