Stuffed Green Peppers
- 4 green peppers
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 3 slices white bread, soaked in hot water
- 1 small onion
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 bouillon cube
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 small can tomatoes
- 2 tsp. tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. fresh or frozen basil
- 2 Tbsp. gravy mix
- Cut top off peppers.
- Remove seeds and rinse with water. Soak white bread in hot water for 1 minute.
- Squeeze out excess water and add bouillon cube into bread to dissolve.
- Mix bread into meat.
- Add onion, nutmeg, pepper and eggs.
- Mix well and stuff peppers.
- In large saucepan heat oil and add peppers.
- Fry for two minutes.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil and gravy mix.
- Cook for 30 minutes over medium heat.
- Serve with Rice.
