Smoked Sausage And Bean Soup

  1. In 4-quart Dutch oven, cook the onion and garlic in margarine or butter until tender but not brown.
  2. Add the water, potatoes, sausage, beans and bouillon.
  3. Heat to boiling.
  4. Reduce heat; simmer, covered for 15 minutes.
  5. Add the cabbage or coleslaw mix, tomato paste or catsup and vinegar.
  6. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes more.
  7. Makes 6 main dish servings.
