Treasure Chest Bars

  1. Sift first 3 ingredients together and set aside.
  2. Add brown sugar, sugar and butter or margarine.
  3. Cream these ingredients thoroughly; blend in eggs.
  4. Beat well after each addition.
  5. Add vanilla and beat well.
  6. Now add dry ingredients alternately with milk; begin and end with dry ingredients.
  7. Blend well after each addition.
  8. Stir in nuts, chocolate bits and cherries.
  9. Turn into 13 x 9-inch or two 8 x 8-inch pans, greased and floured on bottom and bake at 325u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
  10. Frost warm.
  11. Cool to serve.
  12. Cut into squares.
