Dilly Bread
- 1 envelope active dry yeast
- 1/4 c warm water
- 1 c creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp instant minced onion
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp dill seed or weed
- 1/2 tsp sesame seed
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 c flour
- softened butter
- coarse salt
- Soften yeast in water.
- Combine cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, sesame seeds, salt, soda, egg and softened yeast in mixer bowl.
- Add flour slowly to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition.
- Cover; let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
- Stir down dough and turn into well greased casserole.
- Let rise until light.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush with soft butter and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Makes 1 round loaf.
