Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup
- 1 gal. water
- 1 lb. beef stew meat
- 2 lb. white potatoes or red potatoes
- 2 medium size onions
- 1 can large Hunt's tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. ketchup
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. Accent
- Add
- meat to water; let cook until meat is tender.
- Add mixed vegetables,
- tomato
- sauce,
- ketchup,
- onions
- (chopped fine), sugar, chili powder and Accent.
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook
- over
- a
- slow
- fire
- until other ingredients are tender. When
- other
- ingredients
- are tender, mix all-purpose flour
- with water which will form a thick mixture.
- Add flour mixture to soup.
- The purpose of the flour mixture is to keep the soup
- from being
- too watery.
- Makes close to a gallon of soup.
- Serves 8 to 10 people.
