Steak And Chicken Almond
- 1 whole chicken breast, boned
- 1 boneless sirloin steak (8 to 10 oz.)
- 2 celery stalks
- 4 green onions
- 1 (8 1/2 oz.) can water chestnuts, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen pea pods, thawed
- 3 c. chicken broth
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/3 c. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. toasted almonds, slivered
- Cut chicken and sirloin into thin strips.
- Bias slice the celery, green onions and water chestnuts.
- In an electric skillet or wok, quickly cook and stir meats and onions in hot oil.
- Add pea pods.
- Add chicken broth and soy sauce.
- Bring to boiling point, cover and cook 2 to 3 minutes.
- Blend cornstarch and water; add to chicken, meat and vegetable mixture.
- Cook until thick. Top with almonds.
- Serve with chow mein noodles.
- Serves 4.
