Pepper Steak Beef Dish

  1. Cut meat into inch squares.
  2. Brown meat in oil, stirring often, for about 20 minutes.
  3. Add onion and crushed garlic during last minutes of browning.
  4. Add other seasonings, tomato puree and 1/2 cup of the water.
  5. Cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally and adding remaining water gradually as liquid evaporates.
  6. Add chopped sweet peppers and cook 15 minutes longer.
  7. Serve hot over noodles, rice or whipped potatoes.
