Cheddar Ham Chowder

  1. In large saucepan, bring water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8 to 10 minutes or until vegetables are just tender.
  3. Remove from heat; do not drain.
  4. In another saucepan, melt butter.
  5. Blend in flour.
  6. Add milk all at once; cook until thickened and bubbly. Add cheese; stir until melted.
  7. Stir into vegetables.
  8. Return saucepan to heat.
  9. Add corn and ham; heat through, stirring occasionally.
