Onion Rose

  1. Any dark honey mustard or Ranch Style dressing.
  2. Peel onion, leaving root end intact.
  3. Cut onion vertically into quarters, cutting to within 1/2-inch of root end.
  4. Cut each quarter into thirds.
  5. Place onion in boiling water for 1 minute.
  6. Remove and place in ice water for 5 minutes.
  7. Loosen petals if necessary. Drain onion cut side down.
  8. Place flour in a Ziploc bag.
  9. Add onion, shaking to coat.
  10. Dip onion in egg.
  11. Place cracker crumbs in plastic bag.
  12. Add onion, tossing to coat.
  13. Chill 1 hour.
  14. Pour oil to depth of 3 inches into fryer and heat to 375u0b0.
  15. Fry onion 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown; drain on paper towel.
  16. Salt if necessary.
  17. Serve with dressings.
