Carmelitas
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. quick cooking oats
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 3/4 c. caramel topping
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0. Grease a 9-inch square pan. Combine flour, oats, sugar, butter, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl and blend until crumbly. Reserve half the crumb mixture. Press remaining half of the crumb mixture into the prepared pan. Bake 10 minutes. Remove and sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans on top of crust. Stir flour into caramel topping and drizzle over the chocolate chip and pecan layer. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture and bake 15 minutes. Cool 1 to 2 hours before cutting. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container.
