Pizza Loaf
- 1 egg
- 1-10 oz can pizza sauce (1 1/4 c)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 3 c corn flakes
- 2 lb lean ground beef
- 1/4 c finely chopped onion
- 1-4 oz can (2/3 c) mushroom stems and pieces (drained)
- 1-6 oz pkg (4 slices) natural mozzarella cheese
- Place egg, pizza sauce, salt, pepper and cornflakes in large mixing bowl, beat until all are combined.
- Add ground beef, onion and mushrooms.
- Mix together.
- Press 1/2 of meat mixture in bottom of ungreased 9x9x2 pan.
- Place 2 slices of mozzarella cheese over meat.
- Press remaining meat mixture over cheese.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven about one hour, or until meat begins to brown and shrink from sides of pan.
- Cut remaining cheese in narrow strips and place over top of loaf.
- Return to oven again for 3 minutes longer.
