Cheese Corn Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
  2. Coat inside of a 9 x 9-inch square baking pan with nonstick vegetable oil cooking spray.
  3. Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and pepper in a bowl. Stir in cornmeal and cheese. Beat egg slightly in a small bowl. Stir in milk, oil and corn. Add to dry ingredients.
  4. Stir just until blended.
  5. Pour batter into pan. Bake in preheated 400u0b0 oven for 20 minutes until top is golden brown and springs back when gently pressed with a finger.
  6. Cool on wire rack. Cut into squares to serve.
