Oriental Casserole

  1. In skillet, cook beef, celery, onion and green pepper until meat is browned.
  2. Drain.
  3. Add 1 cup water; bring to boiling. Combine the cornstarch, sugar and ginger.
  4. Blend in the soy sauce and 2 tablespoons water.
  5. Add to beef mixture in skillet.
  6. Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  7. Stir in the drained chop suey vegetables.
  8. Break apart the frozen peas and add to beef mixture.
  9. Cool quickly.
  10. Turn into a 2-quart casserole. Bake, covered, in a 400u0b0 oven for 45 minutes.
  11. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
  12. Serve over chow mein noodles.
  13. Serves 4.
