Pepper Steak
- 1/2 c. oleo
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 2 green peppers, stripped
- 2 lb. round steak, stripped
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 c. tomatoes (1 can)
- 1 beef bouillon cube or 1 can beef broth
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. water
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- white wine (optional)
- mushrooms (optional)
- Melt butter.
- Add onions and peppers.
- Saute 2 minutes.
- Set aside and remove from skillet.
- Saute beef sprinkled with garlic powder.
- Stir until brown.
- Add tomatoes and broth or bouillon cubes.
- Simmer 10 minutes.
- Blend together cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar and salt.
- Stir into meat and cook until thickened.
- Add onions and peppers and heat.
