Chocolate Butterscotch Brittle
- 3 sticks butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 12 oz. chocolate morsels (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 12 oz. butterscotch morsels
- 1 box saltine crackers or more to accomodate breakage)
- 12 to 16 oz. pkg. chopped nuts
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Line 2 large cookie sheets with foil. Arrange single layer of saltine crackers on each sheet.
- Melt butter.
- Add sugar and boil for one minute.
- Pour 1/2 of mixture over each sheet of saltines and spread to cover all saltines. Cook in oven for 5 minutes or until bubbling.
- Remove from oven and immediately pour one 12 ounce package of morsels over each sheet and spread quickly.
- If chips do not melt, place back in oven.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
- Refrigerate sheets until hard. Remove brittle from cookie sheet.
- Peel off foil.
- Break into pieces by hand.
