Hamburger Pie
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. diced onion
- 1/3 Tbsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- dash of garlic pepper
- 1/4 c. diced green bell pepper
- 1 can mixed peas and carrots (undrained)
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 c. diced cooked potato (optional)
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 (15 oz.) pkg. refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. beef broth
- 1 tsp. salt or to taste
- 2 tsp. paprika
- dash of cayenne pepper
- 1 c. sour cream
- 4 sliced green onions (for garnish)
- cooked noodles
- In large heavy frying pan, saut the beef in the butter along with the garlic, onions and mushrooms until beef has lost its pinkness and vegetables are tender.
- Add the all-purpose flour. Mix until blended.
- Add the beef broth, salt, paprika and cayenne pepper.
- Stir and cook until thickened.
- Blend in the sour cream. Keep warm, but do not boil.
- Turn cooked noodles onto shallow casserole.
- Top with green onions.
- Serve immediately.
- Good served with tossed green salad, crisp bread, butter and buttered mixed vegetables.
- Easy and tasty.
