Golden Pound Cake
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. mace
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. undiluted evaporated milk
- powdered sugar (optional)
- In medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and mace; set aside.
- In large mixer bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with small amounts of evaporated milk, beating well after each addition.
- Pour into greased and floured 10-inch fluted tube pan. Bake in preheated 350u0b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden skewer comes out clean.
- Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
- Dust with sifted powdered sugar.
