Chocolate Decadence Cake
- 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 12 oz. unsalted butter
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 7 eggs
- 1 c. heavy cream, whipped
- chocolate curls to garnish
- Cut chocolates and butter into small pieces.
- Put in a bowl. Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar and the water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Pour over chocolate and butter.
- Stir until melted.
- Whip eggs and 1/4 cup sugar in mixer until double in size.
- Stir into chocolate mixture until no white streaks appear.
- Pour batter into greased paper lined 10-inch cake pan.
- Bake at 350u0b0 on a sheet pan with 1-inch water (as for cheesecake) for 40 to 50 minutes until cake is set.
- Cool in refrigerator overnight.
- To release cake, dip in hot water and run knife around edge.
- Frost with whipped cream and decorate with chocolate curls.
