Meat Dressing
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 2 small onions, chopped
- 1 small green pepper, chopped
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
- 1/2 c. chopped shallots
- 1/4 c. chopped parsley
- about 5 oz. French bread
- 1 or more cans Dawn Fresh mushroom steak sauce
- red pepper
- black pepper
- salt (I use 3 chicken bouillon cubes instead)
- Brown meats.
- Add onions, green pepper and celery.
- Cook down. Add garlic, shallots and parsley.
- Cook down.
- Soak French bread with only enough water to dampen.
- Using hands, break up bread. Add 1 can steak sauce to pot.
- Add bread.
- Add peppers and salt (or bouillon cubes, dissolved in only small amount of water or crushed).
- Stir.
- If bread shows, use 2 pronged fork to break up. If too dry, add more sauce.
