Brown Rice Strata

  1. Cook rice with water, 1 teaspoon salt and margarine for 45 to 50 minutes.
  2. Spoon about half the rice into buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
  3. Arrange broccoli over rice; dot with pimento. Sprinkle with about 3/4 cup cheese.
  4. Spoon on remaining rice in even layer.
  5. Combine last six ingredients and pour over rice mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and almonds.
  6. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  7. Uncover and bake at 300u0b0 until top is brown, about 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.
  8. Let stand about 5 minutes before cutting.
  9. Makes 6 servings.
