Nut Lassies
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Cream softened butter and cream cheese.
- Add to flour and cut in until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- With lightly floured hands, form into a smooth ball.
- Using a rounded teaspoonful of dough press into tiny cupcake pans so as to make a shell.
- Combine egg, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt.
- Mix well.
- Stir in nuts and turn into shells.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 15 minutes, then at 250u0b0 for 10 minutes.
- Cool before removing from pan.
- Makes about 2 dozen tarts.
- I put the nuts into the shells and spoon the egg mixture on top, instead of putting the nuts into the egg mixture.
