Chicken Fricassee With Dumplings

  1. Place
  2. chickentnto
  3. 6
  4. quarttutch oven.
  5. Add 3 cups water, chopped
  6. onion,
  7. celery,
  8. salt and pepper.
  9. Bring to a boil
  10. over high heat, covered.
  11. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered,
  12. 40 minutes or until almost tender.
  13. (Remove chicken bones).
  14. Add carrots
  15. and
  16. onions.
  17. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  18. Simmer, covered, over low heat for 20 minutes.
  19. Mix the flour
  20. with 1/2 cup cold water, add 1/4 cup hot broth to flour mixture;
  21. stir until
  22. smooth.
  23. Turn
  24. heat to high.
  25. Stir into broth
  26. in Dutch oven.
  27. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.trop dumplings
  28. over hot chicken and cook as directed. Serves 6.
