Macaroni And Cheese Casserole(Non-Dairy)
- 3 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. flour
- 3 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- pinch of turmeric
- 1/4 c. oil
- 1 c. nutritional yeast flakes
- paprika
- Cook the elbows.
- In a saucepan, melt margarine over low heat. Beat in flour with a wire whisk and continue to beat over medium flame until smooth and bubbly.
- Whip in boiling water, salt, soy sauce, garlic powder and turmeric, beating well to dissolve.
- The sauce should cook until it thickens and bubbles. Then whip in 1/4 cup oil and the yeast flakes.
- Mix part of the sauce with the noodles and put in casserole dish, and pour a generous amount of sauce on top.
- Sprinkle with paprika and bake for 15 minutes in 350u0b0 oven.
- Put in broiler for a few minutes until "cheese" is stretchy and crisp.
