Old Fashioned Fruitcake
- 2 lb. raisins (light and dark)
- 1 1/2 c. candied cherries
- 1 1/2 c. pineapple
- 1 c. citron
- 1/2 c. candied orange peel
- 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. almonds
- 1 c. walnuts
- 1 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 6 eggs, unbeaten
- 1/2 c. milk
- Prepare the first 8 ingredients and sift enough flour over this to coat good (not from the 2 cups).
- Then mix your cake batter in a separate bowl, using the rest of the ingredients together.
- Add this to the fruit mixture, mixing well.
- Bake in a tube pan at 250u0b0 for 2 1/2 hours or until done.
