Beef Stroganoff Modified
- 1 lb. beef round steak
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/3 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. beef bouillon granules (low sodium if available)
- 1/2 c. evaporated skim milk
- Remove meat fat.
- Slice into thin strips.
- Combine meat with flour and paprika.
- Heat oil in large skillet or Dutch oven.
- Over high heat, brown beef, onion, garlic, pepper and mushrooms, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in water and beef bouillon.
- Stir to dissolve. Cook over low heat about 10 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup evaporated skim milk.
- Stir to combine and heat another 3 to 5 minutes.
- Serve over hot noodles or rice.
- Makes 6 servings.
